Reflecting..

It's been a year full of ups and downs for me.
I was blessed with a healthy baby girl in January.
To me there is nothing more precious and sacred then a child's innocence.

I've learned that life is full of surprises good and bad.
I've learned that life can be wonderful but it can also be very unkind
I've learned the importance of holding your head high no matter what comes your way
I've learned that life is a journey and a positive outlook is absolutely better than a negative one.
I've learned good friends and family should be cherished.
I've learned it's better to take the high road.
I've learned I despise dishonesty and disloyalty.
I've learned with each passing year we grow a bit wiser!!!!
I've learned a glass of good bubbly can make things seem a whole lot merrier!

Farewell 2010, hello 2011.

I've learned to believe in "fresh starts and new beginnings"! (and so should you)

Wishing you all peace, love, happiness, health and prosperity in 2011. I think it's going to be a great year, I can feel it!

Be back in 2011! Happy New Year!

Inspired! Five Days

a peek at the outfits

I truly can't remember what I did without the internet and my computer. Don't get me wrong i'm inspired daily by the world around me and not just through media, but I love how the web transports me visually around the globe in an instant. I'm not going to lie pouring over the images and articles in magazines and blogs are my guilty pleasure. Sure, I should be picking up all the paper, boxes and toys scattered around my house right now while my daughter naps but instead I opted for a yummy hour of eye candy! These images from Vogue's Daily of senior accessories editor Filipa Fino last week, are truly inspiring. Her look is gorgeous, sophisticated, sexy, layered and timeless!

and the details

I'm crazy for red right now!! Is it the season?? not sure, but I love it!

The ski house

Where are you spending the holidays this year?? I usually go to Vermont, but we're sticking close to home this year!!  Enjoy! {note: these images are not of the house in VT.}

Stars....

I posted this print the other day with a snapshot of holiday images...i love it and had to know where it was from. The gold on {either chocolate which would be ideal or maybe it's black, is stunning}. If you look closely  the custom type is made up of little stars...gorgeous. As I mentioned early, I think I would have to hang this in my bedroom. It's by the illustrator/artist Sebastian Lester. Check out his site, I have emailed him about this piece, so I'll post the info. if you'd like!!

wish list

I really don't have much of a wish list this year but I would like a new ring for myself! I am actually going to start my very own ring fund and I may just buy one of these beauties..my real wish, besides the obvious {health and happiness for myself and family} is to buy a little bungalow for my children and I this year! The two rings above are my favorite!! These are from the Sundance Catalog. I was very impressed with their selection this year. Do you have a favorite? I think I would go with the Druzy ring, {1st one} it's more affordable and wouldn't be mistaken for an engagement ring.

warm and fuzzy

{would this not look adorable framed in a bedroom? - I'll let you know what i find}

My plan was to post something entirely different today but I awoke to a beautiful three inches of snow.  I love the power of an image. I try to begin my day on a positive note, these images certainly set the tone for me today! This time of year is so magical isn't it? {aside from the craziness}

wanting...

ankle boots much like these...with a little wiggle room! {think the heal on the first pair is more my speed, really your feet adjust to ballet flats and chasing two kids!}

Happy Weekend!

I came across Atlanta Home and Garden's "house of the year" this week. The owners are the creative duo behind Square Feet Studio.  What I love about this home most is that they addressed all the details. I mean great design is really about ALL THE DETAILS!!I think I would have to mix up the furniture a bit in the room above {large sectional with lots of pillows maybe? round ottoman with tray?just thinking out loud}, I would also add an array of found objects, books and accessories to the shelves and credenza but overall this room has a really good feel to it..I'm loving the over sized metal framed doors that lead out to what looks to be a curtain enclosed porch.
I adore the pop of red on the chairs, the adorable chandelier and the wallpapered ceiling!

The light wood cabinetry feels right in this space, plus it relates well to the family room built - in.

I'm definitely a fan of the vintage reproduction Osborne and Little wallpaper they used in their master bath. Very Chic indeed.

Cozy Up

This welcoming home beautifully balances classic and modern elements. The owner, who is also a designer, wasn't afraid of larger scaled furniture and lighting. I would love to have just ONE of those cozy fireplaces right now! It 's been feeling like mid-January!! The weather in Glasgow, Scotland {where this home is located} is pretty in line with our weather in Boston this time of the year!
