Pretty Porches

Outdoor spaces that feel like an extension of the interior? Perfection! I love them and could spend the summer relaxing, eating, drinking and socializing in an environment like the one pictured here. Nancy Pearson designed this fresh and funky space! I think the mix of unexpected color and pattern works well.

Welcome Home - perfectly pastel

Fresh and summery, I'm drawn to architectural accents in sherbet hues right now. Light Pink, Aqua, Mint, Lemon...they're all beautiful. A quick way to add some color to your home is to paint your exterior door in a updated shade.  I also love the idea of painting the interior side to match the exterior! It adds an instant shot of color to your foyer or mudroom.

House Hunter

As many of you know my plan is to move within the next 10 months {give or take a few}. I want to downsize, and buy a small home close to the ocean. {that is my dream anyway}. I figure what's life without dreams? I truly believe, with hard work and determination, dreams can come true! Sometimes the best way to discover homes for sale is on a Sunday drive. I did just that this past Sunday. I'm not sure where I'm going to live but my "wish list" currently includes three towns, two north of Boston and one on the South Shore. I came across this little gem.{ and later found it featured on HGTV. com } It's charming, clean and on a corner lot. What more could a designer ask for? I would layer, and add all sorts of amazing ideas to this interior. Oh, and thanks for all your well wishes for my three year old son. I hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Sorry for the lack of posts. My life has been insane! My poor little guy broke his collar bone today!
I just purchased this fabulous dresser for a client project! I love so many of the items from C. Bell, and Christine {the owner} is such a pleasure to work with! Promise to return with more posts soon! xx.

SPLASH 2

New England is a wonderful place to live during the summer, except for when it feels more like Southern Texas. The issue: Old, charming New England homes don't have A.C.. So my house feels like a 100 degree hot house. My children are even having trouble dealing! So today I only have the patience for one image and a short thought!! I wish I could dive right into this photograph. It's by one of my favorite photographers (many of you share this love) Massimo Vitali. I dream of one day owning an extra large copy of one of his beach scenes. Although, this lake shot is my favorite today! Happy Summer!

SPLASH

It's on days like today, that I love to be by the pool or on the beach! What would I do without the summer? I am so inspired by the color palette in these images. Aqua, teal, mint and turquoise!  (a bit like my blog header, the mint and turquoise at least) Off to work!
Or even better yet, on the Riviera

ANTHROPOLOGIE BATHING SUIT. THIS IS SO PRETTY. I THINK I WOULD NEED A BIT MORE OF A TAN TO PULL IT OFF!
I love this vintage shot and that darling cabana.

Sneak Peek - H + H Home on One King's Lane

I love H and H home. Heather, one of the co-owner's not only has great taste but she's super friendly. H and H home has teamed up with One King's Lane. Their one of kind objects, pillows, accessories and furniture will be on sale next Tuesday 7.26 for reduced prices! Scoop up your favorites before someone else does!

I recently posted about the beauty and inspiring interiors by Tom Scheerer at  Lyford Cay Club. Heather was also inspired and  recently had the breakfast room in her home painted by artist Kristen Davis. Isn't it gorgeous? Kristen lists all the paint colors used. Tom Scheerer was kind enough to share the actual brown color used on the project.

Watermelon

What's better in the summertime? This cheery palette is refreshing all year long! I am having a few friends over later this afternoon! I think I need to make this watermelon limeade recipe from Martha Stewart!

Ingredients

  • 8 cups chopped seedless watermelon (about 6 pounds)
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 4 limes)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar, plus 2 tablespoons more, if needed
  • 1/2 cup vodka, (optional)
  • Mint leaves
** Note - I made the watermelon limeade on Friday afternoon. It was very refreshing. Be sure to serve it with lots of ice!! The ice thins it out a little! Enjoy.
