A modern take on ACK

I love Nantucket! (ACK - is the airport code and nickname for the Island) I'm actually heading there in the a.m. I'm fortunate enough to have friends who live there. I've had a crazy week and I'd love to say my weekend will be restful, but I highly doubt it will. My social calendar is pretty booked and then I'm flying out of town on business. I'm not complaining, don't get me wrong, but I've been going non-stop all week and would love to have a weekend to relax on Nantucket. I loved this interior design approach because it's a little un-predictable for Nantucket. The limed floors and white barn board walls are beautiful. I think they'd be a must if I ever have the chance to build a house. Have a wonderful weekend. You most likely won't hear from me until Tuesday! xx - Julie
I'll take this lucite desk, thank you very much...

I'm on a mission to find artwork for not one but two clients right now. I've always wanted to use either one oversized or a series of horse photographs in a design. They're such beautiful animals. The above images are by Patrick Cline and are available through Lonny's Etsy site.
These two images are by photographer Jennifer MaHarry. The beautiful quality of light creates a dream like feeling in these photographs.
I obviously can't discuss photographs of horses without mentioning the amazing "larger then life" work by Robert Dutesco. His horse series is amazing.

I'm sure you'll recognize Michelle Adam's apartment and the two Patrick Cline images.

goings on

Hello there. I have a crazy week ahead of me. I don't want to neglect my blog and my lovely readers. Today I only have time to share a little peek from a job that I am wrapping up. I took these shots today, but after the art is installed I'm going to have this one professionally shot! Happy Tuesday loves!

I'm always inspired by the world around me. I'd have to say most of my inspiration lately is right at my finger tips. With the advent of Pinterest, numerous search engines and a zillion design blogs, I don't have to look far for inspiration. Of course getting in touch with nature and exploring + traveling are always a must too. I need to step out of my design world and away from the computer to recharge sometimes! This week I'm inspired by everything 60's and 70's glam. I'm loving the work of Italian socialite and artist, designer and business woman Gabriella Crespi lately. Her sculptural, designs are a marvel and are crafted out an array of materials such as metal, shells, wood, and bamboo. She drew inspiration from "the universe". Crespi is a very spiritual woman and was born in 1922.

It's really warm in Boston today, unseasonably warm really. (not a great day for the marathoners). This amazing weather is tricking me to believe that July is right around the corner! No worries though, I'll be pool side soon enough. For now, I'll enjoy 80 in April! Isn't it amazing how much the weather affects your state of mind?
